UPDATE | Serious collision near Chiverton Cross, Cornwall

A woman has died following a road traffic collision on the A390 near Chiverton Cross earlier this month.

We were called at around 1.45pm on Tuesday 18 November to reports of a collision involving a yellow Fiat Panda and a black Nissan Qashqai on the stretch of road towards Truro.

As a result of the collision, the drivers of both vehicles, a man in his 80s and a woman in her 70s, sustained significant injuries.

Sadly, the local woman has since died in hospital as a result of injuries sustained during the collision. Her next of kin are aware.

The man remains in hospital.

The road was closed for approximately four hours to allow a thorough examination of the scene and for recovery of the vehicles.
